Sunburn

Sliced raw potatoes can help burns when they area applied topically to the skin. Drinking green tea can also help against sunburn. You can also place chilled tea bags on the affected areas of pain. Eating pomegranates during the summer can help hinder skin cancer, as well as add an extra layer of sun protection for the skin. According to AARP, almonds are, "packed with vitamin E, which defends against sun damage and is often added to skin creams" (Kirchheimer, 2014).
Poison Ivy
There are ways to help heal poison ivy with food. You can help heal poison by eating a diet rich in vitamin C with bioflavonoids, beta-carotene, calcium, and zinc, which help to boost immunity, relieve rash, prevent rash infection, and repair the skin. These foods include red bell peppers, oysters, and carrots. Also, herbs such as jewelweed, and golden seal root help alleviate pain from the rash. Comphry tea and rat vein tea can also help with poison ivy.
Mosquito Bites
You can relieve mosquito bites with foods that can be applied topically, or taken internally to be used as a repellent. B1 (thiamin) rich foods can help fight off those pesky mosquitos. Dr. Maoshing Ni from Yahoo Health says to, "include whole grains, eggs, brazil nuts, pecans, and oranges in your diet" (Ni, 2011). You can also apply garlic to the affected area of skin to relieve the itch of the bite. Equal amounts of vanilla extract mixed with water can also help alleviate mosquito bites
when applied to the skin.
